{"id":647,"date":"2026-08-18T14:41:05","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T12:41:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.safety-services.at\/?page_id=647"},"modified":"2026-10-01T14:22:49","modified_gmt":"2026-10-01T12:22:49","slug":"mvo-readiness-check","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.safety-services.at\/en\/mvo-readiness-check\/","title":{"rendered":"MVO Readiness Check"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">On <strong>20 January 2027<\/strong>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX:32023R1230\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023\/1230<\/a> replaces the Machinery Directive 2006\/42\/EC. For products placed on the market for the first time from that date onwards, there is <strong>no transition period<\/strong>. Anyone who has not made the switch by then may not supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MVO Readiness Check answers, in a single appointment, the question every machine manufacturer is currently asking: <em>What do we need to do before the deadline to keep placing our machines on the market in compliance with the law?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Machinery Regulation 2027: Why This Is Urgent Now<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>No transition period.<\/strong> What matters is the date the product is placed on the market, not the date the order was received. Machines with long production times are already affected today.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>New requirements are being added.<\/strong> Protection against corruption, handling of software updates and self-evolving behaviour, digital instructions for use, substantial modification.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The harmonised standards are only emerging gradually.<\/strong> Until then, compliance must be demonstrated without the presumption of conformity \u2013 which takes time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is checked<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The basis is a structured checklist covering eight areas. Each requirement is assessed as <em>met<\/em>, <em>partially met<\/em>, <em>open<\/em> or <em>not applicable<\/em>, and backed up with the relevant reference in the Regulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The areas checked cover both the technical documentation and the further new requirements of the Machinery Regulation, including protection against corruption, software and self-evolving behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"mvo-st\"><h3>Are you ready for the Machinery Regulation?<\/h3><p>Six questions, no contact details, result straight away. I review the documents before I arrive \u2013 this saves a lot of time on site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2 \u00b7 On-site assessment, around half a day<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We go through the checklist together \u2013 with those responsible for design, technical documentation and, where relevant, sales. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3 \u00b7 Report and action plan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You receive a written report with the completed checklist, an overview per area, and an action plan with priorities, responsibilities and deadlines up to the cut-off date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What you end up with<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A solid answer to the question of whether you will be able to supply by the deadline<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The completed checklist with references in the Regulation \u2013 traceable for management, customers and authorities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A prioritised action plan with deadlines, rather than a general recommendation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clarity on what you can do yourself and where you need support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who the check is for<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For machine manufacturers, manufacturers of partly completed machinery and safety components, as well as authorised representatives, importers and distributors placing products on the market after 19 January 2027. The check is especially worthwhile if your risk assessment and instructions-for-use templates still refer to the Machinery Directive, or if no one in your company can say whether one of your products falls under Annex I Part A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What the check is not<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It replaces neither a risk assessment nor the conformity assessment of individual machines.
